Glossary of Key Terms
Here is a glossary of terms and their definitions that provide a foundation for understanding the key concepts and practices of self-appreciation and activation codes that we use in the Activate Millions Universe. [updated 11.29.2024]
- Activation Code: A unique energetic imprint within an individual's DNA that influences their interactions, experiences, and impact on others.
- Authenticity: The quality of being genuine and true to yourself. It involves expressing your thoughts, feelings, and values honestly and without pretense. Authenticity is essential for self-appreciation, as it allows you to see and value yourself for who you truly are.
- Conditioned or Shadow Path: A way of being that is based on a set of beliefs, behaviors, and responses learned from societal norms, family dynamics, and past experiences, often leading to limitations and self-doubt.
- Divine Calling: The unique purpose or mission that you are meant to fulfill in this lifetime. It is often aligned with your deepest passions and values, and can be discovered through self-appreciation.
- Divine Natural Alignment (DNA): A state of unity and harmony between an individual's soul essence and their connection to a higher power or universal consciousness.
- Ego: The part of the personality that is concerned with safety, self-preservation and self-importance. The ego separates us from others. The ego can often be a barrier to self-appreciation, as it can lead to self-judgment, comparison, and a fear of vulnerability. It also helps us move forward, and break out of old patterns.
- Energetic Field: An invisible sphere of influence surrounding a person, that contains and transmit their emotions, intentions, and vibrational frequencies. It can transform based on how we think, feel, act.
- Gratitude: The feeling of thankfulness and appreciation for something or someone. While gratitude is a helpful tool, the sources emphasize that it is different from self-appreciation, as gratitude is focused on external things, while self-appreciation is focused on your own inherent value.
- Integration: The process of harmonizing seemingly opposing forces, beliefs, or aspects of oneself into a cohesive whole.
- Intuition: The ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning. It is often described as a "gut feeling" or an "inner voice". Intuition can be a valuable guide in self-appreciation, as it can help you connect with your authentic self and make choices that align with your highest good.
- Liberated or Light Path: A way of living and being that is free from limiting beliefs, conditioning, and self-sabotaging patterns.
- Luminary: A person who is a source of light and inspiration to others. Luminaries often have a strong sense of purpose and are committed to making a positive impact in the world. Self-appreciation is particularly important for luminaries, as it helps them stay grounded in their own energy and avoid burnout when working with others.
- Maverick: An individual who challenges conventions, forges new paths, and operates outside of established norms.
- Mindfulness: The practice of paying attention to the present moment without judgment. Mindfulness can be a valuable tool for self-appreciation, as it allows you to be present with your thoughts and feelings, and to appreciate the beauty of the present moment.
- Polarization: The intensification of opposing forces or perspectives, often leading to tension, discomfort, and a desire for resolution or integration.
- Sacred Art of Self-Appreciation (SASA): The practice of recognizing, acknowledging, and increasing your inherent value, and sharing that appreciation with others in an authentic way.
- Self-Abuse: Any behavior or thought pattern that is harmful or destructive to oneself. This can include negative self-talk, self-criticism, and engaging in unhealthy habits. Self-abuse is often a symptom of a lack of self-appreciation.
- Self-Appreciation: A practice of recognizing and valuing one's inherent worth, qualities, and experiences without judgment or the need for external validation.
- Self-Appreciation Challenge: A guided experience where participants commit to sharing what they appreciate about themselves daily, usually for 21 days. This is often done within a private online community where participants can "witness" each other and offer support.
- Self-Judgment: The act of evaluating oneself negatively or critically. Self-judgment is a major barrier to self-appreciation, as it prevents us from seeing our own worth.
- Self-Love: The feeling of deep affection and care for oneself. While often used interchangeably with self-appreciation, there is a subtle difference. Self-love can be limited by external factors, like the ability to receive love, while self-appreciation is focused on recognizing your inherent value, regardless of external circumstances. If you want to increase your self-love, increase your self-appreciation.
- Shadow Self: The parts of ourselves that we have rejected or denied. The shadow self can contain both positive and negative qualities, and is often formed in reaction to negative experiences. Self-appreciation can help us to face and integrate our shadow selves, leading to greater wholeness and authenticity.
- Sovereignty: A state of self-ownership, empowerment, and alignment with one's true nature, values, and purpose.
- Soul Contract: An agreement made at a soul level to encounter specific individuals, experience particular situations, or fulfill certain purposes in this lifetime.
- Resonance: The alignment and amplification of energy between individuals or ideas, creating a sense of connection, harmony, and shared purpose.
- Trigger: An external stimulus or event that evokes an emotional response, often related to past experiences, unresolved traumas, or limiting beliefs.
- Value: The worth or importance of something or someone. Self-appreciation is all about recognizing and increasing your own value, regardless of external factors.
